The Performance Director is responsible for ensuring the consistency of the production on a performance level, regarding the original intent of the Producers and Director; Provides leadership and artistic coordination of overall aspects, character impression, and appearance of the Show; Reviews the total performance in relation to performers for each engagement, conducts production meetings with the stage technicians to communicate technical notes, and partners with the Production Stage Manager to ensure the overall quality presentation of the Show. Additionally the Performance Director is responsible for the creation (in conjunction with corporate PR) and presentation of PR segments.

Essential Job Functions

-Responsible for maintaining a consistently high level of production and performance quality. Communicating all technical and artistic issues in a productive way to enhance the quality of each performance as it relates to the original intent of the production from the Producers and Director.
-Oversees and reviews the performance quality and safety of the cast at every performance, and provides the cast with feedback and guidance to keep the show in line with the original creative vision.
-Responsible for organizing and planning weekly schedules which includes: rehearsal time, PR needs, 3 week plans, warm up, class, coaching and development needs.
-Works with the Production Stage Manager, to coordinate and conduct daily production meetings, as needed, for the purpose of ensuring the overall quality presentation of the Show.
-Responsible for conducting rehearsals and preparing understudies for high quality performances as well as offer guidance and to continuously working on the development of the talent.
-Works with the Corporate Public Relations (PR) department to create and present PR segments and contributes to Unit PR + Promotional activities to ensure that they are in compliance with current Feld Entertainment, Inc., Marvel+copy;, and Disney +copy; guidelines.
-Responsible for writing performance reports after each performance noting both technical and performance issues, absentees, new hires and or dismissals, start and end times of each performance, and any additional information relating to the performance and audience reaction, and submitting the reports in a timely manor.
-Responsible for following and enforcing the rules, regulations and guidelines set forth by Feld Entertainment as they pertain to the Shows in conjunction with being responsible for ones own professional standard of conduct, appearance and work performance.
-Conducting (in conjunction with Unit Staff and Creative Depts.) bi-annual performance appraisals for all Performers.
-Responsible for the creation of a video library for reference, entire show, principal, ensemble, riders, character blocking, staging and understudy numbers. Maintaining step and pattern documentation in order to teach and maintain the quality of the production, as well as maintain information in order to pass along for future reference.
-Responsible for assisting Director and choreographers during rehearsal as well as maintaining communication with Manager and Production Coordinator in order to effectively coordinate the rehearsal period.
-Supports and aides in succession planning for the advancement of prospective internal leadership candidates.
-All other job related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Requirements

-Associates Degree (A.A.) or minimum three years related experience or equivalent combination of training, education and or experience in the field of live theatrical production.
-A full and comprehensive understanding of the functions and operations of a theater venue and its equipment.
-Ability to read, write, and prepare a production blocking book, performance reports, PR summary reports, correspondence, technical journals, and cue sheets.
-Strong understanding of technical skills/stunts, fight choreography, aerial routines and Trials riding terminology, and the ability to instruct/teach the cast of performers the shows set choreography and routines.
-Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
-Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
